Structures of bridges and tunnels

A model that contains the geometry of new structures or new elements of structures to be executed in connection with a railway project.

These models are prepared as the basis for the contractors planned work, to ensure that the contractor has the relevant information for the structure and that this is placed and constructed accurately and correctly.

The model is used in project planning to define location and geometry and must include the necessary elements to generate drawings and calculate quantities. The models are also to be used for collision control against the rail’s clearance profile.

Requirements for 3D modelling of structures are set out in the CAD manual Appendix 3, section 4.2.2.16.
