Existing terrain

A model that contains existing terrain. Prepared by using traditional surveying methods with Totalstation, Lidar scans, GPS measurements, or a mixture of these.

The model is used as the basis for the design of most other structural elements. At the same time, it is an important part of being able to calculate quantities before, during and after the execution.

Requirements for 3D modelling of existing terrain are set out in the CAD manual Appendix 3, section 4.2.1.2.
